TALES OF TREES

Enchanted by their mystical appearance, artist and designer Margot Kat visualises her personal connection with trees. Tales of Trees is a collection of ceramic wall sculptures and spatial work inspired by the beauty and wisdom of trees. Margot experiences a deep connection with nature and feels embraced by trees in the forest. Curiously, she observes her botanical family with their imposing bodies, their uniquely drawn skin and their roots and branches reaching for water and light.

Margot researches the beauty and wisdom of nature extensively. With her ceramic stories, she invites the viewer to look at nature from a different perspective and establish a new connection with it. During long walks, she creates photographic documents that form the basis for experiments with natural forms and the material properties of clay. Her work moves around themes of origin, connection, growth and transience.
