With wall sculptures FOREST SKINS, Margot sees nature as an artist and the skin of the tree as a one-of-a-kind abstract ceramic painting. Her photo archive contains a huge diversity of tree skins. By framing fragments of the skin in a custom-made iron frame, she highlights its unique beauty.
These are three works inspired by the skin of fallen trees, as they are increasingly left in the forest. The deep wrinkles, grooves and irregularities, which Margot intuitively carved by hand, form a rhythmic natural pattern.
